Rod Man

Rod Man is a comedian who captures the attention of audiences immediately with his engaging wit, southern charm and gift for finding the funny in everyday life. The "Georgia boy" with a laid-back style of storytelling got hooked on comedy watching "Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam," and seeing the likes of Martin Lawrence, Chris Tucker and the late, great Bernie Mac perform. It was then he knew what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. "Watching comedy made me feel good, so I figured, why not try to be the one making other people feel good?" So he signed up for open mic nights at Atlanta's Uptown Comedy Corner, hosted by the comedian Earthquake.

Since those open mic nights, Rod Man has performed all over the country, winning first place at the Urban Comedy Festival in New York in 1996. In addition to entertaining audiences at Caesar's Palace, the Gibson Amphitheatre and the Apollo Theater, he's also built an impressive resume of film and television credits.

Comedy Central gave him his own half-hour special, and he appeared on HBO's "Def Comedy Jam," BET's "Comic View," "Showtime at the Apollo" and Comedy Central's "Premium Blend." Additional television appearances include "The Bad Boys of Comedy" for HBO, "Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand Up" for Starz, Nick Cannon's "Wild 'n Out" for MTV, "One Mic Stand" for BET, "The Funny Spot" for TV One, "The World Stands Up" for BBC America and "The Mo'Nique Show." He also co-hosted a morning drive-time show in Los Angeles on KJLH Radio 102.3 FM, owned by Steve Wonder.

On the big screen, Rod Man can be seen in Judd Apatow's "Funny People," starring Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen for Universal Pictures. He also appeared in "Love Chronicles," starring Terrence Howard and is featured in the DVD releases "The Big Black Comedy Show Volume 2" with Mo'Nique and "P. Diddy Presents the Bad Boys of Comedy" for HBO.
